Thanksgiving and the End Times

Nov 23, 2019    Caspar McCloud

The Lord Jesus/Yeshua, knows all things, for he knows the beginning and the ending and even the secrets of your heart. There is absolutely nothing you can hide from the Lord God almighty. For example when he partook of what we now call the last supper in the Upper Room with his disciples, He knew how it was all going to play out. For example, we read how he identified the one who would soon betray him in John 13:27 ,"And after the sop Satan entered into him. Then said Jesus unto him, That thou doest, do quickly." Amazingly the Lord Jesus was still kind and respectful to Judas Iscariot, even washing his feet before sending him out to fulfill the ancient prophesies.
We read how the Lord Jesus foresaw that Peter would deny even knowing him three times before the sun came up in John 13:38," Jesus answered him, Wilt thou lay down thy life for my sake? Verily, verily, I say unto thee, The cock shall not crow, till thou hast denied me thrice."
In the mist of this drama playing out within cosmic proportions we find the Lord Jesus giving thanks to our Heavenly Father.
Mark 14:22,"And as they did eat, Jesus took bread, and blessed, and brake it, and gave to them, and said, Take, eat: this is my body.
23 And he took the cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them: and they all drank of it.
24 And he said unto them, This is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many.'
The bread and the cup symbolised Christ's body that would soon be beaten to the point where he was hardly recognised as being human. The Lord Jesus blood would soon be shed for the sins of this world as he become the perfect sacrificial Passover Lamb of God. (1 Corinthians 5:7) For indeed Christ, our Passover, was sacrificed for us.
Yes clearly the Lord Jesus knew what was going to happen, how the Romans would beat Him almost to death and then how he be nailed to a cross to die.
The Lord Jesus knew why he was born into this fallen world and He knew how to save us for all eternity. He knew he would experience the greatest tragedy and how he be resurrected three days later and turn it into the greatest victory. He knew without shedding of His blood there could be no true remission of our sins and that he have to endure the most horrific suffering anyone can imagine for this to happen.
The Lord Jesus took all the sins of this fallen world upon Himself so we could be made free.
He is our example to follow, Luke 9:23," And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.
So here in the Upper Room we find the Lord Jesus taking the bread and the cup at the last supper and he gave thanks.
How do you give thanks knowing how you are about to be sacrificed in such a horrific way for everyone sins?
Clearly the Lord Jesus gave thanks because, he saw the bigger picture and kept a Heavenly perspective. It was His love for all of us that kept him on that cross. Hebrews 12:2," Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God."
We all have much to be thankful for, let us remember this day and everyday to be express our gratitude for the gift of salvation, giving thanks to our Heavenly Father who loved us enough to send His only begotten Son Jesus/Yeshua to take our place on the cross and be resurrected from the dead, so that we too can live physically forever with Christ.
Praying you have a blessed Happy Thanksgiving.
The Lord Jesus/Yeshua said in John 10:27," My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:" Fight back overcomers, trust Papa God for every detail and stay in faith! Jesus said in Luke 21:15, "For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.' I say hallelujah! Because "All", things are possible with God! I pray the Lord’s supernatural peace, healing, provision and protection cover you always with oceans of agape love in the almighty name of Jesus/Yeshua!
